HMOCS, is a minority owned mental health agency. We offer services that include individual, play, family, couples, and group therapies. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of clinical care, specifically designed to improve the overall emotional wellbeing of people experiencing difficulty managing depression, mood, anxiety, anger, impulses, obsessions & trauma that includes severe neglect, physical, emotional & sexual abuse. The modals of treatment used include Aaron Beck’s Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Minuchin’s Structural Family Therapy and Yalom’s group therapy. These evidenced based modals of treatment lend itself to improved overall emotional well-being for individuals, improved family communication and relations, & teaches angry people how to manage their anger/rage. In addition to serving those in need of outpatient mental health services, HMOCS is also certified by the Board of Social Work Examiners (BSWE) to provide professional trainings and/or workshops to mental health professionals needing Continuing Education Units. Diagnosing & Effective Treatment Planning: Utilizing DSM V, Understanding Ethics & HIV/AIDS, Effective Clinical Note Writing, Adolescent Depression, Effective Case Management & the Social Work Licensure prep course are offered to LGSWs, LCSW-Cs, LGSWs & LICSWs needing to pass the Social Work Licensure Exam, to name a few.
